A timber-framed and plastered house, of C16-C17 origin but greatly altered
in the C18 and C19, with cross wings at the north-east and south-west
ends. Refronted in the late C18 or early C19 and renovated in the C20.
The gables have plaster ornamentation and the centre block has a castellated
parapet. At the north-east end there is a red brick maltings with a circular
oast house. Flint and brick wings extend to the north-west at the rear
2 storeys. 5 window range (2 blocked on the 1st storey), double-hung
sashes with glazing bars. The centre and outer windows are 2-light and
the centre window has a stucco hood mould. A 6-panel door has a Tuscan
portico with plain columns and cornice. Roof tiled, with a large central
square chimney stack.
