8/21 Mount Pleasant Farmhouse

GV II

Farmhouse. c.1800. Squared and coursed limestone; mid C19 Welsh slate roof;
brick stacks. L-plan. 2 storeys; 3-window range. Flat hood with carved brackets
over central 4-panelled (2 glazed) door. Flat stone arches over 6-pane sashes.
Boldly overhanging eaves belong to mid C19 re-roofing. Gabled roof; gable end
stacks. Contemporary 2-storey wings to rear left, and narrow wing parallel to
main range against rear right wall, are built in similar style and materials;
original sashes, late C18 two-light casement in rear gable wall. Late C20
lean-to extension to rear right. Interior: Panelled shutters, 6-panelled doors
set in moulded architraves with panelled reveals; main range is of two units
with central straight-flight with landing staircase of c.1780
