Rectory, now detached house. Early C17, altered mid C18 and
extended early C19. Rendered timber-framing, partly tile-hung, C17
range has axial brick stack, Flemish bond early C19 wing with
hipped tiled roof. Plan: Three-bay Cl7 range formerly baffle
entry with integral outshut to rear, later wings added to rear and
to left return. Two storey, 4-window. Six-panelled door with
pediment and guilloche frieze to left of C17 build, 16-pane and 12-
pane sash to right, early C19 build to left has segmental-headed
12-pane sash to ground and first floor. First floor C17 part has
round-headed fixed central window with 16-pane sash either side.
Right return has 16-pane ground floor sash with C20 casement to
outshut, tile-hung first floor with 2-light attic casement. Left
return has two French windows and two 12-pane sashes to ground
floor, three sashes and blind window to first. Rear of C17 range
has attached rubble stone C17 wing with ovolo or recessed chamfered
mullioned casements to east side, extended late C18 in brick with
planked door and leaded or wooden casements.
Interior: entrance hall in C17 range has chamfered beam with ogee
stops, east room has open fireplace with depressed arched stone
lintel on chamfered jambs, west room has bolection-moulded
fireplace with fielded-panelled cupboards either side. First
floor has bedroom fireplace with egg and dart moulded surround and
cornice. Roof of 5 unequal bays; 2 trusses with collars and
interrupted tie-beams, 2 with diminished principals, 2 tiers of
purlins. Early C19 wing has 6-panelled doors and marble
fireplace. Large open fireplace in C17 kitchen wing with
chamfered stone jambs and missing lintel.
