C17 altered late C18. This was one of the mansions of the town until recently.
Timber-framed, now stuccoed. Slate hipped roof. Moulded eaves cornice. 3 storeys.
Top-floor projects with moulded bressummer on 4 brackets. 3 widely spaced windows
on top and 1st floors. Sashes with glazing bars, 2 on 1st floor with side lights.
Victorian shop fronts with heavy dentilled cornice and fascia. Including No 29A
adjoining left, to match, stuccoed, 3 storeys, 1 window without an overhang, included
for group value. RCHM (32).
