Farmhouse, now house. C17 with mid-C19 and mid-C20 alterations. Timber-
framed with painted brick infill, refacing and replacement walling, plain
tiled roofs. Hall and cross-wing plan; main part of three framed bays
aligned roughly north/south with external chimney with rebuilt diagonal
brick stack to west side of central bay, now enclosed within lean-to addition;
cross-wing at south gable end of two framed bays with central chimney and
three rebuilt diagonal brick stacks. Single storey and attic with dormers.
Framing: hall has three rows of panels from sill to wall-plate; cross-wing
has two rows of close-studded panels and short straight upper braces; collar
and tie-beam trusses with three struts to collar and V-strut in apex to
north gable end of main part and close-set studs in west gable end of cross-
wing. West front elevation: C20 leaded casements throughout; main part has
a 4-light, a 3-light and a 2-light window, two hipped dormers with 3-light
windows and two raking-top dormers with a 2-light and a square window; central
lean-to has a rectangular and a 2-light window and the main entrance in the
right side has a probably re-used C17 door; cross-wing gable end has a 4-
light ground-floor window and a 3-light attic window. A single-storey two-
bay addition adjoins to the left. Interior: main beams are stop-chamfered.
Cross-wing has back-to-back sandstone fireplaces. A single-bay extension
adjoins the cross-wing rear gable end and there is a lean-to addition to
the rear of the north bay.
