Oak House Farmhouse

Farmhouse, now house. Mid-C17; restored mid-C20. Timber-framed with
rendered infill on brick plinth; plain tiled roofs. L-plan; main range
of three framed bays aligned east/west having external brick chimneys
with offsets at gable ends; single framed bay north wing to east bay
and lean-to addition in angle. Two storeys, attic and cellar. Framing:
four panels from sill to wall-plate; gable end of wing has very long
straight braces across lower corners; collar and tie-beam trusses with
four struts to collar and V-strut in apex. North front elevation: windows
are all C20 leaded casements; main part has lean-to addition on ground
floor with a pair of 2-light windows, a 2-light first-floor window and
main entrance adjacent to north wing with a C20 door and narrow side light
to right; also entrance in right side of lean-to addition; gable end of
wing has a pair of 2-light windows with a plank weathering on both floors
and a first-floor 2-light window in the angle with the main part. Interior
not inspected but likely to be of interest.
