Farmhouse. Probably late C16 - early C17, with C19 alterations. Rubble
with ashlar dressings, stone slate roof. 2 storeys and attic, with later 2-
storey extension to rear left, and rear entry. Quoins. Windows in
chamfered surrounds. Ground floor: sashes with glazing bars in surrounds
raised from 2-light mullion windows, C20 casement in fourth bay, and fifth
window centrally below fourth and fifth first-floor bays. First floor: 6-
pane sashes in surrounds formerly of 2-light mullion windows. Ashlar
copings. Stacks at ends, and brick stack between third and fourth bays.
Rear: central 6-panel door below 3-pane overlight; second-floor vent. Left
return: single-light vents, 2 on each of 3 floors. Right return: external
stack and blocked vents. Formerly a grange of Easby Abbey.
