II*
Queen Anne house, circa 1700. Brick walls and tile roof. Symmetrical front (south) of two storeys and attic, on a raised basement, 2.3.2 windows. Recessed centre, having narrow side windows, with blank panels (or former windows) on the inner faces of the wings. Hipped roof and three-hipped dormers (with casements), coved plaster eaves.
Red brickwork in Flemish bond, first floor band, cambered openings to the ground floor and within the high plinth. Sashes in exposed frames, casements to the small basement lights. The doorway has a pediment hood with cornice mouldings, on carved brackets, above a plain opening, containing a fanlight and half-glazed (narrow side panes) double doors. There is a stone-paved area in front of the entrance, and a flight of six steps (curving outwards at the base) flanked by plain wrought-iron rails.
The north elevation has a regular arrangement of four windows, the west has irregular fenestration, including a tall staircase window, and a mid C19 half-octagonal ground floor bay. The east side of the house is part of an older house, rendered on the outside and with different floor levels: minor brick and tile outbuildings are attached.
Within, the hall and two rooms retain original panelling; the staircase has dado panelling, there are panelled doors within architraves, an old fireplace, and other C18 details.
