Lee Farmhouse
II
Late C18, early C19. L-shaped house of 2 storeys. The main (west) front is
symmetrical, of 3 windows, with a hipped tile roof with brick dentil eaves, red brick
walling in Flemish bond with cambered openings, plinth. Wood casements, a double door
within a solid framework (enclosing a 5-panel fanlight) beneath a thin Tuscan porch,
with Greek mouldings. The building opens out to the rear (eastwards) by 4 joined
projections, each terminating in a hipped roof, the northern arm having a greater
length, with a single-storeyed further extension; all with similar early C19 features,
including a French window. Two stacks, one a massive tapered structure rising out of
the single-storeyed unit (suggesting an older origin to the middle of the house).
