Farmhouse. Probably late C17 - early C18, altered and extended c1800
and further extended c1850. Timber-frame regular panels, brick cased
to front, tiled roof to rear, 2 rear external local type chimneys with
detached brick shafts. One storey and attic, 3 bays, symmetrical
fenestration: one mid C19 casement of 3 lights under segmental head to
left hand bay, one similar but not under segmental head to right hand
bay, one gabled dormer with late C19 casements to each of the three
bays, central entrance by mid C20 beaded door, second entrance by C19
ledged door under weathered hood to left hand gable end wall.
Interior: left bay has fireplace, with early C19 swivel brackets for
heating liquids. Framing is 3 panels from cill to wall-plate, gable
tie-beam has planked weathering. The building was extended to right to
produce c1800 cross-wing and this was further extended with a substantial
house in villa style c1850. Both of these extensions have low hipped slate
roofs and rendered finishes.
