Summerstead Farmhouse

C17, C18. A long 2-storeyed house, formed by southward extensions, irregular
fenestration. Tile roof, 4-hipped at the north end and hipped to the short projecting
west wing at the north end; massive. Tapered stack attached to the south gable. The
north gable has a bricknogged exposed timber frame, but the remaining walling is in red
brickwork, Flemish bond, with cambered ground-floor openings. Casements. A coupled
C19 doorway has a tiled canopy, and boarded doors.
