Major Icehouse at Rufford Abbey
II
Icehouse. Mid C18, altered mid C20. Brick, ashlar and coursed
dressed stone. Single bay, octagonal plan. Rebuilt east front
has a pair of flanking walls and central splayed round headed
relieving arch containing rebated round headed doorway.
Octagonal interior has chamber with ashlar top band and vault.
Approx. 7M diameter.
