Old Vicarage

House. Probably early C17, altered late C18. Timber-framing, mainly
cased in brick, with tile roof. Two storeys. Facade has two bays to right
of one-bay cross-wing. Windows sashed with glazing bars. Outer bays have
two-storey canted bay windows. Door, in middle bay, of six panels with
panelled reveals, set in a Doric pilaster doorcase with open pediment and
blind fanlight with intersecting Gothick glazing bars. Framing of cross-
wing truss exposed: between tie-beam and collar are two struts. Chimneys
at right, and on left-hand wall of cross-wing. This wall is underbuilt with
brick on the ground floor and has two single-storey canted bay windows. On
the first floor is exposed close-studding with a middle rail.
