Group of 4 houses. Circa 1897 by George and Peto. Coursed and squared rubble, coped verges with ornamental scrolled
kneelers, stone-tiled roofs; ashlar stacks, 3 very large with chamfered corners, 4 diagonally set pairs, one with
projecting base. U-shaped frontage; Tudor style. Two storeys, 1:1:2:1:1 bays, those to each side and the centre pair
under front-facing gables; predominantly 2 and 3-light stone mullioned windows, some lights with cambered heads,
cornice drips and stopped labels, square paned leaded lights. Four door openings, 2 on front, one to each return,
dressed stone surrounds with moulded cambered heads, labels, recessed ribbed doors; entrance to No 4 altered, door
removed and glazed panel inserted. Good example of the neo-vernacular work of Ernest George. Built for W S Hodgkinson
