churchyard, about 10 m south-east
of south porch, Church of St
Gregory

Headstone. Earliest date 1782 but possibly earlier. Ham stone. Thick slab, shaped top, upper section carved with
angels' heads flanking hour glass with skull, sunken centre with decorated architrave, upper section divided vertically
by cord and inscribed left to Elizabeth Barrington, died 1782, and right to Edward Barrington. The only surviving early
headstone in the churchyard and a good example of its type.
