Mid C18, the core C16-C17. Red brick; 3 storeys and attics; 3 Venetian
windows to 2nd storey, 4 sash windows in plain reveals above and below;
dentilled modillion eaves; 3 hipped dormers; tiles. Modern alterations
to ground floor of wings. Interior has staircase hall immediately behind
front rooms with exposed C16-C17 ceiling and front 1st floor room, now
two, with 2 two-tier wood centre chimney pieces and central pedimented
door, formerly the Assembly Room. Room to rear of front right 1st floor
has C17 plaster ceiling with part of frieze. Strapwork ornament in panels
bounded by beams. Extension to right is 3 storeys, brown brick with modern
ground floor bar front. 1st floor front deeply recessed and having large
projecting brick bow with sash window almost reaching outer wall face.
Floor over, carried on bressummer, has 2 sash windows with moulded lintels;
moulded eaves cornice and hipped old tile roof.
