C16 with north end rebuilt in painted brick in C18. Timber frame faced
in roughcast. Slate roof with gable ends. Two storeys. Six sash windows.
On east front is good two storey gabled porch with oak posts and shaped
brackets supporting the projecting upper storey, the sides have turned
balusters, moulded bressummer to upper storey. Interior C17 staircase.
Queen-post roof with some earlier material. RCHM volume II, page 76,
plate 31.
Hope Farmhouse and barns to south and west form a group.
