- St Thomas's Vicarage

Vicarage. Circa 1899 by Stockdale Harrison. Brick with Welsh slate roof.
2 storeyed, square in plan. Entrance front of 3 bays with tripartite sash windows
in left hand bay and central slightly projecting gable breaking through the eaves
line. This has a wide round arched entrance with finely panelled door with stained
glass in the upper panels and intricately wrought fan light. Above it a group of
3 windows with round arched heads, and in the curving Dutch gable apex another wide
window. Expressed chimney to right with paired shafts. Hipped roof with finials.
Garden front has recessed right hand bay with expressed stack then large squared
bay window with French windows and leaded upper panes, with brick dentilled cornice.
Upper windows of 4 light sashes with leaded upper panes. In the side of this
projecting bay is another expressed chimney corbelled out. Roof of this projection
is hipped and finial. Recessed bay beyond has expressed chimney with small paired
leaded lights within it. Dormers in hipped central roof. West elevation has wide
full height canted bays with round arched windows with keystones and moulded cills.
Dentilled. cornice to bay which breaks across the eaves line. Included for group
value.
