House. C15 or early C16 E cross wing, hall range rebuilt in C18 and
lean-to room against jettied N front of crosswing. Timber frame on white
stucco sill. Exposed frame with white panel infill on present E front
with steep thatch roof hipped and carried down over N lean-to. Tiled and
white weatherboarded W range, dark weatherboarding to N lean-to. A
picturesque 2-storeys house facing E composed of the jettied remaining,
2-bays, crosswing of a late medieval house added to and extended to N
and W. 2 windows to each floor on E front. 3-light flush small-panes
casement windows. Plank door under gabled hood gives access through N
lean-to which has the old jetty exposed inside. Heavy jowled posts
cambered tie-beams and single-frame collar rafter roof. Mortices for
cross partition formerly dividing Ground Floor. Stair formerly in NW
corner. Mortices for 4-light diamond mullioned window under jetty, and
shutter groove for 1st floor window. Jowled posts to jetty. Heavy studs
in walls. Large chimney at SW adjoining rear wing probably C18.
