Rotunda. Before 1784. Grey sandstone ashlar. Octagonal plan.
Base with moulded plinth, square Tuscan piers, entablature with breaks
over piers, blocking course, and high ribbed dome. Flights of 5
stone steps to east and west with side walls and end piers with cast-
iron urns. This was formerly one of a pair of rotundas sited
axially along the Temple Walk to the east of Hawkstone Hall (q.v.).
The other, further to the east, collapsed in 1957. B.O.E., p. 144.
