Farmhouse. Early C17, eaves raised late C18 with later additions and
alterations. Timber framed with painted brick infill on uncoursed
limestone rubble plinth; machine tile roof. Original baffle-entry
plan of 3 framed bays with eaves raised late C18. 2-storeys. Framing:
rectangular panels, 2 from cill to original wall-plate with short straight
tension braces, one rectangular panel above with raking struts from
tie beam to principal rafter to right gable end. Mid-C19 fenestration,
3 horizontal sliding sashes directly below eaves; ground floor has one casement and
one horizontal sliding sash (latter possibly in position of original
entrance) to left and one 6-paned vertical sash to right of 4-panel
door; brown brick ridge stack immediately to left. Interior: inspection
not possible at time of resurvey (November 1985) but likely to be of
interest. Mid-C19 cowhouse attached to left gable end, now partly
converted to domestic use, is not of special architectural interest.
