Farmhouse. C17, altered early C18 and late C20. Roughcast rubble, asbestos slate roof, roughcast stacks gable ends,
right stack external. Plan: not clear without internal inspection, appears to be early C18 2 cell and cross passage
addition fronting C17 range including stair turret, another part of which was demolished mid C20. Two storeys, 3 bays,
irregularly placed fenestration, all 2-light C20 casements, 2 left and one right of central entrance, C20 door, early
C18 shell hood porch supported by the addition of cast iron columns. Rear elevation, ground floor masked by corrugated
iron roofed outshut of uncertain date which cuts 3-light ashlar ovolo moulded mullioned window left, right gable end
stair turret with two ovolo moulded mullioned windows, all under hoodmoulds, tiny C20 glazed opening to right,
projecting gabled wing end bay right, Interior not sighted. The concrete path to entrance said to conceal a patterned
pebble pavement with date. This was the home of a prominent local family, the Escotts, whose tombs (qv) are in the
churchyard of the Church of St John the Baptist, Carhampton (qv).
