House. C17, remodelled and eaves raised in mid-C19, and mid- and late-
C19 additions. Coursed limestone rubble, partly cement-rendered, with
slate roof. 3 storeys. Rendered plinth, deep eaves and 2 brick stacks
to rear. 3-window front; probably mid- to late-C19 two-light leaded
windows with moulded frames and mullions on first and second floors;
ground floor early- to mid-C19 glazing bar sash to right and ground
floor late-C20 imitation glazing bar sash to left with C20 brick cill;
central 6 flush-panelled door with radial fanlight and mid-19 gabled
porch with sandstone ashlar columns. Mid- to late-C19 two-storey
cement-rendered addition to right with first floor 6-pane sash and
ground floor half-glazed door. Interior: C17 staircase, remodelled
in mid- to late-C19; rising 2 storeys, in 2 flights with landing to
first floor and L-shaped with winders and rectangular well to second
floor ; moulded closed string, pierced double lyre-shaped splat balusters,
moulded grip rail, and square newel posts with moulded finials, that
at first floor with raised lozenge decoration; probably C19 shaped
pierced frieze on first floor with bulbous pendants (c.f. The Vicarage g.v.).
Ground floor room to left at front with mid-C18 raised and fielded
panelling, dado rail, moulded cornice, C17 corner fireplace with C20
surround, C18 buffet-niche with half-dome and shaped shelves, and
segmental-arched recess. C17 plank and muntin door and corner fire-
place in first floor front room to left.
