House. Late C17 or early C18, possibly earlier. Extended c.1800. Altered
C19 and C20. Brick, possible timber frame. Whitewashed. Steeply pitched
tiled roof. 2 storeys. 7 bay main range with 2 bays added to left.
Central entrance with a cambered head in a C19 gabled porch with an
arched entrance way. Altered openings. Ground floor left C19 canted bay.
Ground floor right, French door, 2 light and 1 light casements. First
floor blind panels to centre and to right, 2 light casements, most with
cambered heads. Moulded brick band below projecting eaves course.
Pilaster strip to left to 2 bay addition with casements and an entrance,
end pilaster strip. Right gable end ground floor sash with a cambered
head. To rear scattered casements, 3 C19 stacks on rear pitch. Lean-to
outshut with pantiles and an entrance. To left end is a weatherboarded
link to barn all under a continuous roof, double doors and window to
front. Barn extends back at right angles with a lean-to addition on
front gable end. C17. Timber frame, weatherboarded and red brick cased.
6 or 7 bays. Inner elevation is brick with C18 openings, some blocked,
large C19 cart entrance with gauged brick arched head. Interior: house
not inspected, barn has curved braces from jowled posts to cambered tie
beams, angled struts clasp purlins, braces in walling, windbraces. C20
addition to barn not of special interest.
