Lodge. 1895, with earlier origins. By Walter Brierley, for Mr J Shaw.
Dressed sandstone to front and sides; rubble sandstone to rear; ashlar
dressing and stack; pantile roof. Domestic Revival Style. 2-storeys;
irregular fenestration. Plank door with wrought iron strap hinges in right
return wall of 2-storey, gabled porch. Blank shield-shaped cartouche over
door. 2-light staircase window in porch end wall. 2-storey castellated
canted bay in gable wall to right, with 4-light window. All windows have
chamfered mullions and square-paned leaded lights. All openings have flat
quoined jambs. Coped gables with finials to steaply-pitched roof with
overhanging, bracketted eaves. Single, plain, centre-ridge stack.
