Bondgate Bridge

1892. Single iron lattice-girder span. Four ashlar piers with pyramidal and
crenellated tops, and traceried panelled sides with coat of arms of Ripon. One is
inscribed "Bondgate Bridge. Opened by the Mayoress of Ripon (Mrs Smithson) Friday the
28 October 1982".
Approach to bridge has cast iron railings with fleur-de-lys and spear finials and
plain stone piers at their ends (except to south-west), from which run similar
railings along river bank.
