House, 1586, (with C18 kitchen extension). Large, squared sandstone in slightly
uneven courses; extension in coursed herringbone-tooled sandstone. Pantiled roofs
with stone ridge, copings and kneelers; French tiles on hood; brick and stone
stacks. 2 storeys, 3 bays, the right bay projecting slightly. Left of this a
plank door under pent hood on brackets. Right 6-light chamfered mullioned-and-
transomed window under hoodmould; 4-light similar window at left. Single light
above door, 2-light mullioned windows at first floor right and 3-light mullioned
and transomed window at left. Very high-pitched roof with end chimneys (brick at
left). Left (1-storey) kitchen has boarded door and casement under keyed lintel.
Mullioned windows at first floor rear. Interior not available for inspection but
high-quality woodwork, including richly moulded beams and joists, has been
recorded, also C18 wall paintings.
