No 225 (Knapp House) with its North and East Boundary walls and entrance gate with piers

House, earlier than 1675. The front and sides of local Stone cut and squared,
the rear c1950 brick wall replacing cob; thatched roof, brick chimney stacks.
Substantial Somerset cross passage house; 2 storeys, but kitchen seems to have
been single storey. Main entrance elevation dominated by late C19 2-storey
angled by window with sashes. Front door to left of this has 6 reeded panels; on
heavy frame set on plain reveals, no porch; to left of this stone mullioned
kitchen window with hollow chamfers, probably early C18: other ground floor
windows to right-hand of bay late C18 12-pane sashes, these separated by stone
string course from 1st floor unmoulded mullioned window surrounds with small
leaded panes: another matching window to left hand of bay. Interior not
inspected, but layout said to be main room fireplace back onto passage, with
another room and fireplace beyond this; the kitchen across the passage. Front
stone boundary wall approximately 1.5 metres high to forth and East boundaries
with two stone gate piers with moulded tops and ball finials. (Hall, Sir R. de
