15/79 The Kennels
II
Hunt kennels, now house. 1806 on datestone; late C19 extension and C20
remodelling. For the Osbaldeston family. Dressed sandstone with tooled
quoins and dressings; pantile roof with ashlar and 1 rendered brick stack.
2-storey, 5-bay front, centre bay gabled and projecting; C20 single-storey
lean-to extension to right. Part-glazed door to centre bay in door-case
with corbelled pediment hood: 16-pane sash to right, and glazed oculus in
raised surround above. Datestone with crest to gable apex. Second C20 door
to left in original opening. Other ground-floor openings to left and right
have been altered, and those to right are masked by lean-to extension, but
tripartite keyed lintels indicate original positions. All windows are 16-
pane sashes with painted stone sills, those to first floor in plain keyed
surrounds with recessed panels beneath. Cavetto-moulded eaves course. End
and left and right of centre stacks to hipped roof.
