Former public house, now private house. 1713 dated on eroded rear lintel; front
of late C18 or early C19 appearance. Herringbone-tooled coursed sandstone; pantiled
roof with stone ridge, copings and kneelers, brick stacks. 2½ storeys, 1 wide bay,
very irregular. Left C20 half-glazed door in early C19 dentilled surround under
later C19 gabled hood holding lantern. right early C19 24-pane shop window. first
floor 2 12-pane sashes in wood architraves. Top floor one 12-pane Yorkshire sash.
Right front partly concealed by overlapping of Seacroft (q.v.). Rebuilt stack at
left end, old brick stack at right. Rear elevation to sea has fire window on left,
modern glazed door and large modern window on right with big dormer over. Also a
C17 lintel with worn inscription. Included for group value. Forecourt wall about
2 feet high, with flat coping, enclosing front garden.
