Parish church. C13 fabric with C13 and Perpendicular details. West tower,
nave with south porch, chancel. West tower with flint with stone dressings,
slated nave, black glazed pantiled chancel. C13 west tower with quoins, south
and west lancets. 3 square headed 2-light belfry windows, the fourth a single
light. Brick battlemented parapet. 2 bay nave with to south 2 3-light
Perpendicular windows, one arched with tracery, one straight headed. South
porch with c1300 jambs and arch reset in Perpendicular squared stone and flint
walls with 2 blocked Perpendicular 2-light windows. Nave north with blocked
north door C13 and one 3-light Perpendicular window. Chancel south with one
2-light arched Decorated window, one straight headed 2-light Perpendicular.
3-light Perpendicular east window. Nave and chancel roofs lowered from pitch
visible on tower and nave gables. Interior. Tower with recut round arch and
splayed window embrasure with inserted lancet. Undecorated C15 octagonal
font. C15 wall painting south wall, 3 figures preside over a martyrdom,
perhaps of St. Erasmus. Chancel arch jambs c1300 with later Decorated/
Perpendicular double hollow chamfered arch. Perpendicular rood stairs ground-
floor and loft doors. Chancel with chamfered brick sedilia and piscina,
presumably originally plastered. C17 and C18 polished slate ledger slabs.
C19 arched braced nave roof, plastered chancel roof. Benches and stalls
1909 restoration.
