Slab memorials with inscription plates. C18 or early C19. Plates
engraved by Cook of Minchinhampton; J. Freebury of Stroud; and
Ursell of Cirencester. Limestone with brass plates. slabs are
arranged singly, in a pair, or a row of 3, either with individual
plates, or with one very large plate on central slab of row; all
on raised base with single step. Single step with plate by J.
Freebury inscribed to THOMAS WALTER BLACKWELL, died 1834; and
MARGARET BLACKWELL, died 1846. Single slab with plate by Cook
inscribed to William Pitt, died 1798; and THOMAS son of Revd. Wm
Pitt died 'on the COAST of BENGAL' in 1807. Pair of slabs with
plate on each, first by Cook inscribed to Wm. RODWAY, died 1803;
second by J. Freebury inscribed to WILLIAM RODWAY, died 1835; and
SARAH HANCOX RODWAY, died 1833. Row of 3 with individual plates,
first by Cook inscribed to BARRIET BLACKWELL, died 1801; second by
Ursell inscribed to MARGARET BLACKWELL, died 1818; and third by
Cook inscribed to GEORGE BLACKWELL, died 1811. Row of 3 slabs with
one very large plate on central slab by Cook, inscribed to JOHN
RODWAY, died 1719; ELIZ. his wife, died 1776; JOHN son of the
above J. & E. RODWAY, died 1760; and MARTHA his wife, died 1798.
