Detached dwelling. Dated 1728 on rainwater head. Squared and coursed marlstone,
limestone ashlar pilaster strips to corners and centre bay, plain string coursed above
window keystones at ground floor and first floor, hipped stone slate roof, large stone
stack, right. A simple block plan to which deep wing added, left, c1930. Two
storeys, attic and basement, 5-windowed, all good original sashes with glazing bars in
plat-band surrounds with keystone and stone apron dropped from string band to
segmental heads; three small hipped dormers with 2-light casements with leading,
2-light flat beaded stone mullion casements to basement, central 8-panel fielded door
in pilasters and with open baroque pediment on consoles, approached by 4 semi-circular
stone steps; door and centre bay contained in full height pilasters. At rear,
staircase window detailed as main elevation, and wide panelled door to rear wing.

Interior: very fine oak dog-leg stair with twisted balusters and swept handrail;
ground floor, right, painted panelled room with fielded panels reputed to be pine, and
fireplace framed by pair of full-height fluted Doric pilasters with triglyph frieze;
many panelled doors and shutters from original design, oak, but painted, one shell
cupboard. Full width cellar with stone barrel vault and Welsh cross-vaults to
windows; steep flight stone stairs enters through broad plank door at right (north
end).

A very fine surviving example with untouched facade - perhaps originally rendered - of
a Uley clothier's house.
