House. Circa early C16 hall house with floor inserted circa late C16. Plastered
stone rubble or cob. Thatched roof with half-hipped ends and eyebrow eaves. Two
storeys. Five window range. Upper (west) end originally an outbuilding. Modern
metal frame casements with later panes. Near east end a modern door to cross
passage with modern thatched rustic porch. Rendered ridge and end chimney stacks.
Small two-light chamfered wood mullion window at rear. Short modern rear wing with
half hipped thatched roof. Interior: jointed cruck trusses. At higher end a plank
and muntin screen with four-centred arch chamfered doorway. Similar doorway other
side of cross passage and another, originally an external rear door at end of cross
passage. Stopped chamfer ceiling beams and chamfered fireplace bressumer with stone
jambs. Adam style chimney piece in first floor room. National Monuments Record
