House. C17 core (or earlier) with C18 and C19 additions. Cob, stone plinth,
rendered, the street front faced in red brick, under thatched hipped roof, the
late C19 parts under 2 slated gabled-ends. The oldest range lies at right angles
to the road, the left-hand wing to this (forming an L-shaped plan) faces the
street; the internal angle of the plan filled with late C19 2-window range
facing access lane to left. 2 storeys. Front: (ie. to street), 3 window range,
3-light windows above under eyebrow eaves, timber casements, each light round-
headed, the central light taller than those to each side which are
fixed; polygonal leading. Asymmetrically-placed late C19 porch, open,
with round-headed timber arch and roundels in spandrels, turned baluster
railings; square-headed 3-light windows to either side, with large
diamond leaded panes. The right-hand elevation (the older house) with
three 3-light windows above, with lintels at eaves level; thatched porch
with C20 lattice-work with one 3-light window to either side. Panelled
door. Internal lateral stack. Left-hand side with C19 sash and casement
windows. Building is reported to contain a smoke blackened roof. (M.
