Public House. C15 or earlier with later additions and alterations. Timber
framed and rough rendered with some painted brick. Red plain tiled roof, hipped
to left rear range with forward jettied gabled crosswing to right. C20 flat
roofed single storeyed extension to front of left range. Left red brick chimney
stack. Two storeys. 2:1 window range to first floor, 2:0 window range to
ground floor of mainly small paned vertically sliding sashes. Half glazed doors
to left and right ranges. Iron railings with ornate posts to flat roof verges.
Reputed to have been a Poor House at one time. RCHM 10.
