Farmhouse, C16, timberframed and rendered; plain tiles. 3 cells and chimney
bay, 2 storeys and attic. Off-centre axial stack left. East facade: timber
post to left quoin; ground floor of chimney bay and central cell forward;
ground floor with 2 and 3-light casments, doorway to third cell; first floor
with 3 and 4-light casements, small fixed lights to chimney bay. Left return
with colourwashed brick skin and small lean-to; right return with 1½
storeyed brick lean-to under pantiles, gable rendered. Rear facade to west:
first cell with 2-light casement to ground floor, 3-light casement first
floor; centre cell with French windows to ground floor and 3-light casement
to first floor; C16 openings with lozenge wood mullions to chimney bay
and third cell, of 3 lights to first floor chimney bay, of 4 lights to ground
floor and 7 lights to first floor of third cell; small opening to chimney
bay ground floor. Interior: timber studs to west wall; large fireplace
to first and central cell; large floor tiles. The house was known in the
C18 as The King's House Hall.
