Late C17 front, said to be 1688. red brick with stone quoins. Two storeys and
attics, five windows, sashes with glazing bars, moulded architraves. Heavy bracket
cornice, slate roof with three gabled dormers. The rear wall is of stone. Arched
entry at west end of front has good garden doorway with brick piers having stone
caps and vases. Interior of this part of house has two fine late C17 panelled
rooms, staircase etc. Front railings removed. Stone house behind on three sides
of courtyard is of various earlier dates, the back range claiming to be the refectory
of the Annivellars' College. This hasmediaeval stone entrance arch, C15 oak screen,
and stone fireplace. AM.
