6/26 The Green Farmhouse

Farmhouse. C17 and later; north gable dated 1759 in iron letters. Timber
frame on plinth, rendered and colourwashed. Steeply-pitched reed-thatched
roof. Two storeys and attic. 2 and 3-light casements, C19 and C20. Drip
board over ground floor windows on east side. Off-centre axial chimney stack
with pilaster strips. Two entrance doors on west side, one opposite stack,
one at north-west corner, both with C20 gabled porches. 3-light attic
casement in south gable. North gable rebuilt in C18 brick with tumbling-in
to parapet and moulded eaves corbels; internal chimney stack. Pantiled lean-
to at north-east corner. Small pantiled and weatherboarded lean-to at south
gable.
