House. C16 with C18, C19 and C20 alterations and additions. Original ranges
timber framed, circa 1800 red and black brick faced range with some exposed
frame and C19 brick built range. Chimney stacks to left and right ranges. Red
plain tiled and grey slate roofs. 2 storeys or 2 storeys and attics. Complex
plan. Gabled range to right with single storey lean-to. Rear ranges. 2:2 window
range of vari-light casements with mullions and vertically sliding sashes. 6
panel 2 light door, moulded surround, floral motif to frieze, Corinthian columns
and pilasters support the moulded flat canopy. One rear return wall with
serpentine braces, ground floor bricked-in. Interior features include restored
C16 back-to-back inglenook fireplaces to ground floor, one bedroom fireplace
with chamfered brick jambs, wooden cambered and moulded mantel beam. Stop
chamfered bridging and ceiling joists to some rooms. C17 panelled door. Arched
brace to bedroom wall. Heavy section bridging and on edge ceiling joists. 2
C18 corner cupboards to ground floor one with pilaster jambs, a smaller C18
cupboard to first floor landing. Stick baluster staircase, moulded open string.
C18 door with HL hinges and original catch to attic door. Attic stairs around
chimney. Roof partly restored but pegged at ridge.
