Farmhouse. Built for G.Q. Pedlar in 1866 when the old (possibly C17) house (part of
which survives as a rear wing) was burnt down. Stone, rendered, the rear wing of
cob, plastered, all under gabled-end slate roofs. Lateral stack with 2 set-offs to
outer face of wing; 2 stacks set to the rear of main range roof ridge; all with
brick shafts. 2-storeys, with attic storey to main range gable walls.
Front: symmetrical 2:1:2 window range; overhanging eaves with paired console
brackets forming a broken pediment above central bay; stone central porch, broken
pediment as above, moulded string course rises as moulded architrave over round
headed doorway; panelled and glazed door with semi-circular fanlight. 12-pane
hornless sash round headed window above porch, otherwise all square-headed 12-pane
hornless sash windows; all under rusticated lintels with keystone. 2 similar
windows to each floor at both ends of main range (2 of which are blocked) and 1 to
the gable wall. Round headed 15-pane sash window lights rear stairwell. Rear wing
with a first floor window of 2-lights, 10 leaded panes per light, and another to
ground floor with saddle bars.
