A C16 timber-framed and plastered house built on a half H-shaped plan, with cross
wings at the north and south ends. 2 storeys. The windows are partly double-hung
sashes with glazing bars and partly casements, The ground storey has C20 shop
fronts to the cross wings and a 6-panel door to the centre block. A tall cart entrance
passes through the north end of the centre block. Roof tiled.
Church of St Mary forms a group with No 255 and Nos 269 to 275 (odd).
