TL 71 NE WHITE NOTLEY THE GREEN

7/250 Pennet's Farmhouse

GV 21/12/67 II

House. Late C14/early C16 origin with C16/C17 and later additions and
alterations. Timber framed and plastered. Half hipped red plain tiled roof.
Off centre red brick chimney stack. The C14/C15 2 bay single storey hall to
left with vertically boarded doors. Main range 2 storeys and attics. 3 window
range of small paned vertically sliding sashes in moulded surrounds. C20
glazed, hipped red tiled porch with glazed margins to door. Main range with
C16/C17 panelling to stairs. Several original board doors some with
ironmongery. The 2 bay hall with a 4 armed cross quadrate crown post on a heavy
cambered tie beam supported by chamfered arched braces each with 5 pegs to tie
beam. Roof structure heavily sooted, converted into a bake and brewhouse,
C18/C19 with large red brick bake/brew chimney to north wall. RCHM 6.
