Farmhouse. W range early C17, E rear extension later C17, extended to N
and brick cased with pilasters in early/mid C19. Timber frame with
painted brick infill exposed at E of rear wing, white painted brick with
steep old red tiled roofs. Z-plan 2-storeys and attic house facing W.
Early C17 2-windows W range with large internal chimney rising through
the front roofslope. Parallel roofed E range has exposed framing on E
side, a large external chimney at S end of that wall and a single storey
brick and tile kitchen projecting E from its C19 N end. W fronts of both
ranges have brick pilasters and 3-light casement windows. Entrance in
lean-to porch in NW angle. Good exposed internal timbering with jowled
posts, clasped-purlin roof with collar trusses, chamfered cross-beams in
W range, axial with bar-stops in E extension. (Roberts(1975) No.19).
