Farmhouse incorporating part of former Cluniac priory. C14 priory with
C17 to C20 additions and alterations. Rubble, slate roofs. North/south range
of 5 roof bays, C14, enveloped at south end by U-block of late C17, cross-wing
added to north end in late C17; 2 large C17 stacks against east wall of main
north/south range. Two storeys, on cellar to south end. Garden (south) front:
chamfered plinth and string course, wooden modillioned cornice; originally

(4-pane sashes with exposed sash boxes), rest blocked. Ground floor, 2 blocked
windows to left, C20 casement, central door, 2 sashes as above, and a small
2-light casement to right, all under flat heads. Door, under canopy with

elevation of this range in the early C19, which has an ashlar facade. Some
C17 wooden cross mullioned windows survive in east and west elevations.
Interior: roof of north/south range is of 5 bays, the south bay originally
separated off. Most of the roof is of arch braced collar trusses, tie-beam
trusses at each end, and to south bay, 2 purlins with 2 sets of cusped wind
braces. Cellar entry from garden (south) through short segmental headed
tunnel under terrace, with reset C13 arch (2-centred head, filleted roll
moulding) to cellar entrance, battened door possibly C16 or C17. There are some
loose fragments of worked stone on the wall to the west of the house, probably
