Buddhist shrine in garden approximately 40 metres to south east of Kildwick Hall.

Garden ornament. Probably late C18 - C19. Grey sandstone. Approximately
1.2 metres high. Octagonal base, banded cylindrical shaft surmounted by
shrine with panels decorated with animal motifs in relief, some panels
pierced, cover of curled-back petal motifs, bulbous finial, damaged.
One of 4 shrines possibly introduced with the garden layout by Frances Mary
Richardson Currer who had the bay-windowed extension to the Hall built in
1858. She was the grand-daughter of Robert, 1st Lord Clive's sister,
Frances Clive (d.1798), which suggests a possible family source for such
ornaments.
