Farmhouse. C17 with C19 and C20 alterations. Rubble and timber-frame, some
wattle-and-daub, some lath and plaster infill, stone tile roof. Single room
on ground floor, stack to east gable with entrance beside it, C20 entrance in
west gable. East gable: one storey and attic, door to left of stack with
segmental brick head, stack has blocked opening with large timber lintel
(indicating that the building continued in this direction), gable above rebuilt
in brick, C19, attic lit by a gabled dormer in each side elevation, both of C17
framing with C19 casements. 2 late C20 casements to each side elevation.
Framing: one square panel high in side walls. Interior: stop chamfered ceiling
beams, central one downstairs with evidence (bored holes) for a light partition;
late C20 splat baluster staircase; roof of 2 bays, with chimney in an extra
half-bay. Both trusses have tie-beams interrupted by doors (an original feature).
