House. C16 or C17, part rebuilt c1800, C19 addition and alterations; further
alterations C20. Timber frame with replacement brick infill, plastered; west end
rebuilt in flint with brick dressings; single-storey rear addition of brick and
flint with brick dressings. Roof of Welsh slate (replacing thatch) to eastern
(right-hand) section plain tiles to rest. Old brick stacks. 2 storeys, 4 first
floor windows. South (entrance) elevation: near-central gabled, glazed, early-mid
C20 porch with board door. Windows have wooden frames and mullions, those on ground
floor to left of entrance having segmental arched heads; on ground floor they are of
2, 2, 2, 3 and 2 lights, on first floor of 3, 3, 2 and 2 lights, with a 3-light
swept-roofed dormer between the two on right. Roof half-hipped at right end, hipped
at left end. Broad ridge stack of 2 flues and with offset top on right of entrance;
another to rear left. Rear: left section has exposed timber frame, with posts head-
braced to eaves plate, mid rail and square panels; board door on left with 4-light
window with diamond-set wooden mullions to left and on right boarded-up windows
flanking chamfered former 4-light window; large boarded-up window further right. On
first floor, to right of door is a 3-light mullioned window; a leaded casement set
on midrail; and to right again a 2-light window and part-boarded window. The right-
hand flint section has partly external lateral stack on right and projecting single-
storey C19 gabled addition which has board door and blocked window. Right return:
exposed timber frame, as before, having window on each floor and raked queen struts
with collar to gable. Interior not inspected. In state of dilapidation at time of
listing.
