Large farmhouse, originally manor house. Early C17 remains of larger
house, altered C18 and restored C20. Rubble flint and stone, rendered
with stone dressings, or brick and flint with brick dressings, plain tile
roof, wall similar with tile coping. L-shaped building of 4 bay,
2 1/2 storey block end onto road, and along road 2 storey, 2 bay wing,
continuing as wall with service buildings against it, ending in gateway.
Road front has to LH gable of main block plinth, restored C17 stone
mullioned 2-light window, over C17 3-light similar, in gable C20 timber
3-light mullioned window. Raised gable wall restored with 4-gable finial.
To R in wing C20 leaded timber mullioned windows; small 5-light in 1st bay,
larger one with transom in other. Lean-to on end as start of wall, then
brick section with door, then rendered wall with 4 bay hip-roofed building
behind, and length of wall to C20 gateway. To LH front has 3-light stone
mullioned window with hood mould. Similar gable wall at far end, butt of
wall in stone, brick and flint chequerwork, other side brick and flint
with external brick stack. Inside main block C17 dogleg staircase, some
panelling and stone fireplaces.
