26.4.57 Manor Farmhouse
II
1814. Two storeys, 5 windows. Hipped tile roof, stepped brick eaves, merging into
end pilasters. Symmetrical elevation of 3 wide windows, with narrow first-floor lights
above the doorways at the second and fourth bay. Red brick walling in Flemish bond,
with cambered rubbed arches, plinth merged with end pilasters. Sashes of 3-lights in
the wider openings. Doorways have brick pilasters and segmental heads, with plain
boarded doors in solid frames, with a modern ½-glazed porch to the second bay. Above
the main entrance is a stone panel inscribed with an oval within which is the lettering
ANNO PACIFICO, GPJ (George Purefoy Jervoise) and date 1814. A single-storeyed wide
porch is attached to the north-east side, linking to a taller single-storeyed
symmetrical block (of the mid C19), with 1/2-hipped tile roof, and brick walling with
flint panels, a central wide door between 2 small windows.
